Today, I'm showing you how to make an Abstract Expressionist Alphabet painting in the style of the Post Modernist artists of the 2950s and 60s.
Key figures in this 1950s / 60s New York-based circle that shifted art toward Postmodernism, Pop Art, and Neo-Dada were Jasper Johns and Robert Rauschenberg, Cy Twombly and composer John Cage.
I'll also be channelling Jackson Pollock's splatterpsintings at the end - a very satisfying and enjoyable addition!
This is a very popular lesson that I teach to GCSE Graphic Art students, who always produce stunning results.
