Cooking a simple meal of rice, beans, and veggies in the solar oven.
Digging out wildlife ponds on the homestead.
While the food cooked and the dirt flew, I found myself thinking about a stranger future — one where ducks rise up as the dominant species, and I, the “pond giver,” am just here to dig their new kingdom.
