Classic Manipulation: Accuse Someone Of Gaslighting While Actively Gaslighting Them

Описание: TLC's Sister Wives has returned for it's 18th season and the hypocrisy, inconsistencies, and out right lights are being exposed.

Kody's special word of the week: gaslighting. During his conversation with Janelle, he insisted that she was trying to manipulate him. The weirdest part of this exchange for me as a viewer is I don't think he was trying to convince her, he was trying to convince us. The entire scene was very concerning.

After watching this episode, I wanted to give My Take on the issue of gaslighting and possible ways to side step these types of arguments. In this case. Janelle was at a severe disadvantage. I don't thin she realized Kody came to argue until they were 10 minutes and 30 accusations into the conversation. Secondly, they were arguing about a superficial topic, "the Co-Vid restrictions" Kody put into place.This isn't what he's mad about. It's more likely, he's mad that Janelle hasn't shunned Christine for leaving, Janelle didn't buy Christine's house, and Janelle refused to follow his orders without question.

As we watch these shows, keep in mind that it has been out of Janelle's character to display this type of open anger in front of the cameras. It's easy for us, the viewer, to demand that she leave Kody but we must keep in mind this has been her lover and friend for over 30 years. She was ultimately having difficulty coming to the conclusion that things were never going back to the way they were.
