Sabina Yeasmin is a stellar example of how, given the right opportunity, even a textile garments worker can achieve incredible success. Despite the fact that she, like her mother and sisters, worked in a garments factory, has become highly educated through her own capability and labor because she never gave up her courage or her ambition. She founded the 'Ovoya Foundation,' which supplies sanitary napkins to low-income women. Her goal is to pave the road for many more Sabinas like her.
Sabina shares her bold tale of transitioning from garment worker to university student to returning to the same garment as a successful businessperson. Sabina Yeasmin is a former garments worker who served as a Junior Needle Issuer at Simba Fashions LTD, Adamjee EPZ. She is a fresh graduate from Asian University For Women (AUW). Having completed her Bachelors in Politics, Philosophy & Economics (PPE) with a minor in Development Studies, she has been running her own non-profit project called "Ovoya Foundation" since 2019. Through her work she facilitates workshops for children to provide them basics of sex education and works for safe menstrual hygiene. Additionally, she was elected as the President for AUW Student Government (2021-22).
