I Wasn’t Sure My Kids Were Ready for These Fish

Описание: This was one of those days I’ll never forget. I wasn’t sure my kids were ready to handle fish like these — but they surprised me in the best way. Watching them battle, land, and release big native fish together reminded me why I love nature and fly fishing in the first place.

In this video, we’re fly fishing the Salt River in Arizona for native Sonora Suckers. I handle the casting and hook sets, and the kids take over from there — fighting the fish, learning patience, helping each other, and soaking it all in. My daughter reels in all three fish, my son helps hold and release them, and the teamwork is what makes it special.

These fish fight hard, and moments like this are more about the experience than the catch. Teaching respect for native species, learning together, and sharing time outdoors is what this channel is really about.
