Amidst this emotional atmosphere, opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav also reacted to the issue and leveled serious allegations against the BJP. Speaking to the media, Tejashwi Yadav said that the BJP had betrayed Nitish Kumar. He said that the people of Bihar voted for Nitish Kumar for 25-30 years, but now he was being removed from power. Tejashwi Yadav also stated that during the assembly elections, he had warned that the BJP did not want Nitish Kumar to become the Chief Minister. According to him, the BJP wanted its own Chief Minister and that he would only serve as a "rubber stamp." Tejashwi Yadav also said that Nitish Kumar has served Bihar for the past 20 years and he respects him for that. He added that his sympathies are with Nitish Kumar in this entire matter.

बिहार की राजनीति में उस समय हलचल तेज हो गई जब मुख्यमंत्री Nitish Kumar ने राज्यसभा जाने का फैसला किया। उनके इस फैसले को कई लोग बिहार की राजनीति में एक बड़ा बदलाव मान रहे हैं। इस खबर के सामने आते ही Janata Dal (United) यानी जदयू के कई कार्यकर्ता और समर्थक नाराज दिखाई दे रहे हैं। उनका कहना है कि नीतीश कुमार को यह फैसला मजबूरी में लेना पड़ा है और इसके पीछे कहीं न कहीं Bharatiya Janata Party का दबाव हो सकता है। जदयू के कई समर्थक इस फैसले से भावुक भी नजर आ रहे हैं। इसी भावनात्मक माहौल के बीच विपक्ष के नेता Tejashwi Yadav ने भी इस मुद्दे पर प्रतिक्रिया दी और बीजेपी पर गंभीर आरोप लगाए। मीडिया से बात करते हुए तेजस्वी यादव ने कहा कि बीजेपी ने नीतीश कुमार के साथ धोखा किया है। उन्होंने कहा कि बिहार की जनता ने 25–30 साल तक नीतीश कुमार के नाम पर वोट दिया, लेकिन अब उन्हें सत्ता से हटाया जा रहा है। तेजस्वी यादव ने यह भी कहा कि विधानसभा चुनाव के समय ही उन्होंने चेतावनी दी थी कि बीजेपी नीतीश कुमार को मुख्यमंत्री नहीं बनाना चाहती है। उनके मुताबिक बीजेपी चाहती है कि उसका खुद का मुख्यमंत्री बने और वह केवल एक “रबर स्टैंप” की तरह काम करे। साथ ही तेजस्वी यादव ने यह भी कहा कि नीतीश कुमार ने पिछले करीब 20 सालों में बिहार की सेवा की है और इसके लिए वह उनका सम्मान करते हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि इस पूरे मामले में उनकी सहानुभूति नीतीश कुमार के साथ है।
