BJP legislator Siddhant Mohapatra criticised the previous state government during a session in the Odisha Legislative Assembly over the repeated accidents on the Haladiapadar road overbridge near Berhampur in Ganjam district. The bridge and its approach roads have been the site of frequent mishaps, including a recent accident on January 31 where a speeding truck collided with three motorcycles, killing five people and injuring several others.
