In the remote Siberian wilderness, hundreds of kilometers from the nearest village, a 91-year-old grandmother lives with her young granddaughter in one of the harshest climates on Earth.
Here, winter lasts nine months and temperatures can fall below −70°C. The two of them rely on each other inside a small wooden hut surrounded by endless snow and silence. The wind howls through the frozen plains, and the fire crackles softly in the stove — their only shield against the relentless cold.
But life here is more than solitude. Every day, the grandmother and her granddaughter must fight to protect their small flock of sheep — their only source of survival — from packs of hunting dogs that prowl around the enclosure. When night falls and blizzards rise, distant howls echo across the white wilderness, warning them that danger is near.
With more than nine decades of hard-earned survival experience, the grandmother teaches her granddaughter how to light a fire in fierce winds, how to read fresh tracks in the snow, and how to stay calm in the face of fear. Though still young, the girl stands bravely beside her grandmother, holding a burning torch in the darkness as they drive the predators away from their sheep.
❄️ This is not just a story of survival in the coldest land on Earth. It is a story of courage, love, and the unbreakable bond between two generations fighting together against nature’s harshest trials to protect the fragile life they have built in the frozen wilderness.
