Meet The Author Who Lives in a Lorry

Описание: Meet Mike, our friend and neighbour who lives off the grid in a lorry behind Babipur Towers. Today was an exciting day for us as we helped Mike and his assistant Ian film a promotional video for their upcoming book launch. We've gotten to know Mike over the years, as he comes to our warehouse and office each day to fill his water bottle and charge his laptop. Despite living without electricity, mains water, or central heating, Mike has found a way to live on just £25 per week.

Mike's life has been nothing short of extraordinary. He's travelled around the world, worked a wide range of jobs, and even owned his own motorcycle dealership. But his path to living in a converted lorry began in his childhood, where he suffered a traumatic few years at a rural boarding school. He escaped from the beatings of the school's masters by running away as often as he could.

After finishing his studies, Mike's lifestyle became truly eccentric. He lived in a flat in an industrial warehouse, on a houseboat, and even spent time sleeping and eating in an office and an estate car. Converting a houseboat allowed him the freedom to pursue his favourite pastimes of mountaineering, rock climbing, potholing, and sailing. He later switched to lorry life, where he has found peace and happiness while pursuing his passion for writing.

Despite his aversion to anything to do with telephones or computers, Mike still has a small laptop for writing on. His new book, 'Newspaper Curtains,' is a testament to his incredible life and the lessons he's learned along the way. We're honoured to know Mike and to have played a small part in helping him share his story.
