Video showing interiors ( unfortunately very dim lit ) and exteriors of Piaristenkirche (Piarist Church in english) . This church is also known as the Church of Maria Treu.
The church was built between 1698 and 1719 and its name derives from a miraculous painting, Maria Treu, which was painted by Josef Herz, on the occasion of the plague of 1713, which was then placed in the chapel of the Addolorata in the church. From 1721 the church took its name from this painting.
Inside the church there is a masterpiece by Franz Anton Maulbertsch: five frescoes on the dome, made by the important Austrian baroque painter from 1752 and 1753.
