In this show, we hosted the renowned Indian economist and former Reserve Bank of India's governor Raghuram Rajan. We asked Prof. Rajan why he argued in his latest book that the service sector allows India an alternative development path. We asked him if services export can be scaled up like manufacturing. We also discussed if low-end services can generate good jobs. We discussed Indian agriculture and subsidies, especially state support in procurement prices. We asked Prof. Rajan if he thinks the private sector in education is a good idea. We also pushed Prof. Rajan on why his book doesn't discuss wealth redistribution through wealth and inheritance tax. And finally, we end with a discussion on the banking sector, especially on his thoughts about the privatization of banks.
