Paul Young: Setting the Standard for Music Industry Degree Programs

Описание: Paul talks about the legacy of USC's Music Industry program, and what he envisions for it going forward.

Paul Young was tapped to become the new head of USC Thornton School of Music's Music Industry Program in 2017, which offers a bachelor of science degree, and will be launching a new master of science degree in Music Industry. He personally designed the masters degree, to launch in fall 2018, around those who are passionate about music and the music industry who chose another degree path initially (e.g. music performance majors, DJs, bloggers, etc.), but are now hoping to make the Los Angeles music market their home and career.

He also is now member of NARAS (the Grammys), after becoming a Grammy nominated artist himself in 2017, as part of the John Daversa Progressive Big Band. Membership will provide his USC students with additional contacts and connections in the industry, beyond his own from his professional musician life and prior career, working for Universal Music Group in music licensing.
