Plot: "Everything Must Go" is about a man down on his luck after a struggle with alcohol, a divorce, and losing his job all in the same time span. He is forced to live on his front lawn because his ex-wife changed the locks on his house.
The movie is based on his time on the lawn just after being fired, and is the true story of Raymond Carver. It is quite possibly one of Ferrel's most compelling roles and one of his best monologues. The movie has gotten rave reviews all across the scales and many independent film festival awards. It is directed by Dan Rush.
Synopsis: In this scene, a depressed Ferrel is currently relapsing from no more alcohol and speaks to, and tells truth towards his neighbor and new friend, Samantha. One of the only people besides a young boy named Kenny and a detective whom try to help him move on with his life.
Feeling hopeless and jealous of what his friends and neighbors have and their more fortunate lives, he takes it out on Samantha, whom is pregnant and desperately trying to help him in this scenario move on from the past. In the movie, Will Ferrel's character is a sales man, so in this scene he expresses his sales ability which includes being able to read and understand people in minutes.
