Описание: This video is a 2024 remaster of a video originally filmed on November 6th, 2018. It was filmed six years ago, today. This was the first time I ever heard a thunderbolt siren up-close in person. Six years later, this activation is still my favorite one to date. Now, let's enjoy this blast from the past as we keep moving into the future.

**This siren was replaced by a 2001-130 in February of 2020. The concrete blower support pad still remains.**

FINALLY!!! I got to hear my first thunderbolt in person and dang! it was pretty loud. It was very windy outside, and I had to set up behind a few trash cans and a small house so my camera wouldn't fall over! (It fell over a few times). All I can say is that I am coming back to this siren again in the summer.

The siren runs for a 3-minute emergency cycle during tests because the radio fails to receive the cancellation signal. The rest of Evanston's sirens run a 1-minute testing cycle during tests.

This siren was originally fitted with a single-tone chopper. During the late 2000's or early 2010's, the chopper was swapped with a dual-toned chopper, which effectively converted this siren from a Thunderbolt 1000 to a Thunderbolt 1000T.
