25 years ago this month. the character of Alf Roberts in Coronation Street left the cobbles. Played by Bryan Mosley, the character had been on screen since 1961.
Just 6 weeks later, Bryan also passed away whilst out in Shipley.
The longevity of the character means generations of people grew up watching and, later, remembering Alf Roberts. But Bryan had been acting in other TV and film roles including Doctor Who and, most famously, in the 1971 Michael Caine movie Get Carter, where, due to working as a stunt man, he was cast as one of the villains.
Here is a quick look at his grave in Nab Wood Cemetery in Shipley.
