You get to know customers over the years. Id like to tell you about a particular customer, Imagine a large country house in Brookwood in Surrey. We have a large back garden and a lovely front garden which is just as big. But in this lovely huge garden there was an adequate pumping station, it was a mono pump and with a mono pump you have to bleed it and put water in it to get it to work and I got to know this customer very very well and I used to say to him when I was called out to get it to work because he couldn't get it to. There he was with all his spanners and he would say 'Im beat Mr Rowe, can you get it going for me?' and I said 'Ya know, we need a new system in here. I can design you one and I used to tell him all about it and he'd say 'Maybe when I get turned around or when things get better. It really works well Mr Rowe it really gets going.'

Well it did get going but at multiple times of the year Id be back and I got to know him very well. What happened now I received a phone call and this is after knowing him for seven years. He said 'Gerry, come put that new system you were talking about in.' I asked 'Whats brought this on? Whats changed your mind?' and he says 'Im selling the property.' so I said 'Oh no, you are selling the property so the new owners are getting it and the price has gone up as its been seven years so we could have had all the use of the new system and we could of had it 20% or even 30% cheaper all those years ago and we are putting it in now at a higher price and you are not going to get any use from it. The new owners are going to come to this new lovely system. My customer who really liked me and I really liked him had this system for about 3 months but after the first fortnight of having the system I came back and made an appointment and when I arrived there he was with the spanners and the screwdrivers and he said 'Right Gerry you have gotta tell me what to do.' I said 'You don't need to do anything. That's it! It's a fully automatic system. You don't do anything at all. If it breaks down the alarm goes off and a light flashes and you say for me to come and fix it. Systems have to work, if they are fully automated then they are fully automated. Get on with your life enjoy your feel good quality of life.'
