Описание: Hofmeyr is a small, character-filled Karoo town in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa, situated 20 km west of the Bamboesberg mountain range and 64 km north-east of Cradock. Resting at an elevation of 1,252 metres, the town today has a population of around 326 residents, with a further 3,354 people living in the neighbouring township of Luxolweni (2011 census). Once the heart of a thriving sheep-farming district, Hofmeyr also managed nearby salt pans located 10 km to the west.
