Описание: A heartbreaking road accident claimed the life of a former village sarpanch in Jalalabad, Punjab, after he was crushed under an overloaded tractor-trolley while on his way to collect his pension from the bank.

The deceased has been identified as Pala Singh, former sarpanch, who left his home on an Activa scooter to withdraw his pension from Jalalabad bank. Near Bamniwala village on Mehalam Road, Dhani Prem Singh, an overloaded tractor-trolley carrying fertilizer allegedly ran over him, resulting in his instant and painful death at the spot.

Eyewitnesses said that after the accident, the tractor-trolley driver attempted to flee the scene, but alert villagers chased and caught him near Bamniwala village. The incident led to chaos and cries on the road after people noticed the body lying there.

Police from Police Station Wairoka were informed immediately. Upon reaching the spot, police seized the tractor-trolley and began an investigation. According to the investigating officer, the former sarpanch came under the rear tyres of the trolley, which caused his death.

Police are currently investigating whether the trolley was overloaded and who was at fault. An official case will be registered after the investigation is completed.
