🇺🇸 The program “Invention and Variations” centers on Gilbert Amy’s Invention III, inspired by Gregorian chant and built in 14 variations, paying tribute to Xavier Darasse and the tradition of J.S. Bach, whose Passacaille and Fugue in C minor concludes the program. C. Franck’s Choral No. II in B minor continues this lineage, while J.P. Sweelinck’s Chromatic Fantasy opens the program with a unique thematic material and remarkable inventiveness.

🇫🇷 Le programme « Invention et Variations » est centré sur Invention III de Gilbert Amy, inspirée du plain-chant grégorien et construite en 14 variations, rendant hommage à Xavier Darasse et à la tradition de J.S. Bach, dont la Passacaille et Fugue en do mineur conclut le programme. Le Choral II en si mineur de C. Franck poursuit cette filiation, tandis que la Fantaisie chromatique de J.P. Sweelinck ouvre le programme sur un matériau thématique unique et une inventivité remarquable.

• Marc VONAU : 🔗   / pitoncabris  
🇺🇸 Born in 1979, Marc Vonau began his career as titular organist of the Verschneider organ (1866) in Traubach (Haut-Rhin, France). Trained at the Conservatoire and the University of Strasbourg under Daniel Maurer and Francis Jacob, he holds a degree in musicology and an advanced diploma in organ performance. From 2004 to 2015, he taught at the Protestant Organ School of Strasbourg (AFORGEP) while performing at the Catholic Mission in Zürich and at St. Maria Church in Kehl.
His career as a performer has taken him across Europe, appearing at festivals such as Toulouse les Orgues and Saint-Malo, and collaborating with ensembles including Trecanum, La Frattola, and the choir of Catherine Bolzinger. After eight years in Réunion, where he taught piano and practiced ultra-trail running, he settled in Vendôme in 2024 as an organist and, in 2025, joined the Munster Valley, exploring a wide range of instruments from neo-baroque to symphonic organs.

🇫🇷 Né en 1979, Marc Vonau débute comme titulaire de l’orgue Verschneider (1866) de Traubach (Haut-Rhin). Formé au Conservatoire et à l’Université de Strasbourg auprès de Daniel Maurer et Francis Jacob, il est titulaire d’une licence en musicologie et du diplôme de perfectionnement en orgue. De 2004 à 2015, il enseigne à l’école d’orgue protestante de Strasbourg (AFORGEP) tout en jouant à la Mission Catholique de Zürich et à l’église St Maria de Kehl.
Son parcours d’interprète l’a mené à se produire dans toute l’Europe, lors de festivals comme Toulouse les Orgues ou Saint-Malo, et en collaboration avec l’ensemble Trecanum, La Frattola ou le chœur de Catherine Bolzinger. Après huit ans à La Réunion, où il enseigne le piano et pratique l’ultra-trail, il s’installe en 2024 à Vendôme comme organiste, puis rejoint en 2025 la vallée de Munster, explorant un large éventail d’instruments, du néo-baroque au symphonique.

🇺🇸 The organ of the Conservatoire de Strasbourg was built in 2006 by the Manufacture d’Orgues Muhleisen. With 29 stops on three manuals and pedal, and mechanical action, it offers a balanced tonal palette suited to both teaching and concert performance.

🇫🇷 L’orgue du Conservatoire de Strasbourg a été construit en 2006 par la Manufacture d’Orgues Muhleisen. Avec ses 29 jeux répartis sur trois claviers et un pédalier, et son action mécanique, il offre une palette sonore équilibrée, adaptée à la fois à l’enseignement et aux concerts.
