In 1961, two scientists built the world's first wearable computer - a timing system hidden in their shoes and a receiver unit in a pocket-sized box. It timed the roulette ball using toe taps and predicted landing spots with 44% better accuracy. But they only did it for science, never for profit.
But in the 90s, Gonzalo García wasn't so noble. He noticed casino wheels weren't perfectly random. After analyzing thousands of spins, he identified numbers more likely than the 1-in-36 odds, winning over a million euros. When the casino sued, the court said 'fix your wheel'.
The latest was 2004 - three players at London's Ritz Casino used a laser scanner hidden in a phone to predict where the ball would land. They won £1.3 million in two nights.
They were arrested, but eventually released and kept every penny. Why? Because they never touched the casino equipment - they just outsmarted it.
