This was originally created for my very simple aerobics routine:
Grace Jones- stretch legs
Explosion- burst train with the legs.
Remainder of video: As many Jumping Jacks as you can.
The album opener has always been my favorite because of it’s intensity. I often think it is the actual song titled “Slave to the Rhythm”… then I watch the video to witness that I’m now incorrect.
This video represents aerobics and dance of 1985, the intensity I mentioned above, with perhaps some slight hints of cardio and other fitness as well. All pics, including those of Grace herself, were researched with 1985 as the year.
They were brought up by search engines, which are not always perfect. So I can’t promise all pics featured actually were taken in 1985.
The pics were also searched with aerobics and dance as key terms. The images used were displayed first in the search results (not sure how all that technical stuff works.)
Not all dance pics would represent high-level intense moves. It’s just celebrating 1985 in exercise with fashion (hey, we all wore clothes.)
If I were a music video director (back in the day), this is the direction I’d have for Miss Grace Jones. I’m still completely unsure what the original audio biography was about for her entire album, but this is my interpretation of this awesome, intense song.
