Competitors: Ford CMAX Hybrid
What Camerons Car Reviews has to say: Introduced on the U.S Market last year, the Prius V is a Hybrid for people who are looking for more cargo capacity than the regular best selling original Prius and as the V stands for Versatility in this nameplate. The Prius V is a hybrid and power comes from a 1.8 L 4-Cylinder paired with an electric motor with EPA estimates of 44 City/40 HWY. Toyota knows their Hybrid systems really well so any worries about any problems with the battery should be forgotten. The Prius V is very spacious and has enough room for a family of five and when the second row seats are folded flat the cargo capacity is very spacious. Prices start from about $27,000 for the base model and can range up to almost $31,000 which is not that bad considering every Prius V no matter what trim you get is an Hybrid. Compared to the Ford CMAX Hybrid the V is much more spacious and really lives up to what versatility really is, however build quality on the CMAX is much more better as well as the interior looks and technology. We recommend the Prius V as it is the more practical choice and we really trust Toyota's Hybrid synergy Drive, however the CMAX isn't bad it all it's just not as practical.
