The price of cooking gas is likely to go up in coming weeks due to rising price of imported LPG, increased appetite for clean energy and inadequate LPG infrastructure. Energy Petroleum Regulatory Authority Director-General Daniel Kiptoo says to remedy this Kenya should in the short term introduce an open tender system and spur competitive pricing along the value chain whilst developing the LPG infrastructure to allow regulation.
