Ukraine Sends Military Experts to West Asia to Share Drone War Experience

Описание: Ukraine is sending its first group of military experts to the Middle East to share its wartime experience, particularly in countering Iranian-made drones used extensively by Russia during the ongoing conflict. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that several teams of specialists would be deployed to the region starting March 9.

The initiative reflects Kyiv’s attempt to leverage the expertise it has developed during more than four years of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Ukraine has gained extensive experience defending against drone attacks and protecting civilian infrastructure, capabilities that could be valuable to countries in the Middle East currently facing similar threats.

Zelenskyy made the announcement before holding talks in Kyiv with Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten. During their meeting, the two leaders discussed expanding cooperation in joint arms production and strengthening defense ties. Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of producing weapons together with the Netherlands and highlighted ongoing discussions about investments and production volumes.

At a joint press conference, Zelenskyy said Ukrainian experts would share knowledge on protecting civilians and assisting U.S. forces stationed at bases in the Middle East. He also noted that several countries in the region have expressed interest in purchasing Ukrainian-made drones, adding that Kyiv could sell equipment not currently required by its own military.

As tensions escalate in the Middle East with Iran launching drone attacks against U.S. allies, Ukraine hopes its battlefield expertise will strengthen partnerships with regional and Western allies while potentially bringing additional military and economic support.
