A Steller Jay visits the nest for a short time but flew off when Jackie's vocals were heard! Shadow brings the first coot of the season to the nest & Jackie is hot on his tail! Shadow lands in the nest and Jackie on the high perch both are vocalizing. Shadow will put on his chef's hat and begin de-feathering and prepping the coot while Jackie vocalized and watched. Shadow took his time making sure all those feathers were plucked and cast aside for his Queen and even got to eat some of the tasty dish he prepared.

Jackie flies to the nest and takes the food gift gladly and makes some satisfied squeaks while eating. Shadow finishes up on his portion and then he went to the Y branch to feak his beak. Jackie at most of the coot before flying off for the afternoon.

Food gifts are another sign that Jackie & Shadow could be working on a replacement clutch of eggs, along with their mating, nest visits & fixing up the nest. Everything looks promising! Thank you for watching!
