Overview of a 1991 Yamaha RMX II single locking tremolo from an RGX 312L (pointy guitar, 24 frets, Gibson style 24 3/4" scale length).
AFAIK the RMX II was made from around 1988 to 1991, maybe on 200, 300, or 500 series Yamaha guitars. I think the design is interesting, but the materials are not so good, as you will see in the video. AFAICT the only lefthand 1988-1991 RGX variant was the RGX 312L, so if you wanted an RGX, it was RMX II or nothing. But it's hard to say for sure, the catalogues were not necessarily complete or accurate, I have played one Yamaha guitar and owned another that were not catalogued.
If you're interested in these late '80s early '90s guitars, Yamaha usually paid the Floyd Rose license fees on 600 series or above, so you would get a proper double locking system, often with their height adjustable nut. That might be next Obscure Lefthand Bridges.
Re: soldering the strings, I only use lead free for two decades, it's OK, you scared old men can do it, the alloys are much better now. I've never tried Fender Bullets on it, if they fit in the fine tuning lever, that might be a more satisfactory way to go.
