In this short video, I give you a little tour of the world famous Etches Collection Museum (The Museum of Jurassic Marine Life) situated in the village of Kimmeridge, Dorset, on the Jurassic Coast.
The museum opened in 2016 and showcases a truly world class fossil collection, amassed over a phenomenal 60 years by my good friend and palaeontologist, Dr Steve Etches MBE. All of the Upper Jurassic fossils were collected locally.
I have known Steve for almost as long as I’ve been working professionally in palaeontology. He is one of the kindest, most fantastic people I’ve met in this field with an incredible passion for palaeontology.
