Grab a front row seat and ride the train — the historic Pacific Electric Red Car — by night from the Cruise Terminal to 6th Street in San Pedro, California — at the edge of the Port of Los Angeles. The ride is on a replica car of the 100-year old Pacific Electric Railway — historically accurate to its original design (and using many original components). The demise of the Red Car in the late 1950s plays a prominent role in the film "Who Framed Roger Rabbit."
The 2nd Death of an Era: Sadly, the Red Car service was discontinued by the Port of Los Angeles 27-Sep-2015. I am among those who hope to see it to come back.
