In this video we have a swing check valve that is leaking past the seat.There are so many different ways to repair a valve. Lucky for this 1-13/16" swing check valve. We have spare parts which include a new disc and insert. Replacing the parts is fairly easy. The trick is diagnosing the problem and performing the hydro test.


This valve is rated to 10,000psi. The shell test pressure is 1.5 times the working pressure which comes out to 15,000psi. With this much pressure you really need to make sure the valve is assembled properly before applying high pressure. The seat test is performed at 10,000psi. The duration of each test is 5 minutes.


The replacement part worked out and the valve was operating correctly. There are many different ways to repair and test industrial valves.
