Описание: Taji Riley and Samantha Day Los Santos are women who grew up in the Bronx and alumnae of Rocking the Boat. Rocking the Boat is a program located in the South Bronx that teaches boat building and water appreciation skills to high school students. Working together, students spend a school year building a full-sized traditional wooden boat and learning about the Bronx River environment. The boats are built from designs that were historically used by New Yorkers; therefore, students gain a connection to the city’s maritime past. Once completed, the students have a chance to take their boats out on the Bronx River.
