Avery unusual miniature writing box/ lapdesk, c.1830. The Box is made from fruitwood, Applewood, Ebony inlaid, with a mother of pearl shield escutcheon to the top. Open the box to reveal an pink interior and a mirror to the inside, there is the Parisian makers mark / retailer to the bottom. The box is in good condition but the inks to the interior are missing. 6 ¾ inches wide by 4 ½ inches in depth by 1 ¾ inches in height when closed.
