And this calls for serious carefulness, diligent work on your salvation, and laying force on yourself, your sinful nature. God has done His part for your salvation, sending His Son to die, giving you His Holy Spirit, the Word of God, and the church to encourage and keep you on the narrow road. But the only thing left for you to do is to force yourself into the heavenly life ordained for you (2 Pet. 1:3–8; Matt. 19:20–21).
