BIO:
Oliver has a wide range of experience performing in professional orchestras, having freelanced on a regular basis with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony, Singapore Symphony Orchestra, and the Sydney Sinfonia.

Oliver was awarded a full scholarship at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, where he studied cello under the tutelage of Li Wei Qin. As part of the school’s program, Oliver received several opportunities to perform throughout United States and Europe. In June of 2014, he took part in the Texas Music Festival, also finishing 2nd place with the Elgar Cello Concerto in the festival’s Concerto Competition.

In 2015 and 2016, Oliver was invited to perform in The International Holland Music Sessions, giving recitals in various locations in Holland, as well as performances and interviews on NPO Radio 4 (a prominent classical music channel in the Netherlands).

Oliver was principle cellist of Queensland Youth Symphony (QYS) in 2012, where he also took part in the Queensland Youth Symphony Europe/Asia tour as soloist; he performed Saint-Säens Cello Concerto no. 1 in concert halls throughout Germany and France.

Aside from working as a performer and teacher, in his spare time, Oliver loves spending time with his wife & son, and is an avid practitioner of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
