থাইল্যান্ডের রাজধানী ব্যাংককে সড়কের একটি অংশ দেবে গেছে। তৈরি হয়েছে প্রায় ৩০ মিটার লম্বা ও ৫০ মিটার গভীর একটি বিশাল গর্ত। ঘটনাস্থলের পাশে একটি হাসপাতাল ও একটি মেট্রো স্টেশন রয়েছে। হাসপাতাল ও আশপাশের ভবন থেকে ৩৫০০ মানুষকে সরিয়ে নেওয়া হয়েছে। স্থানীয় এলাকার মাটি এখনো সরছে বলে জানা গেছে।
