Pure Insanity is one of the “ancient disaster” / extreme / secret gamemodes in Tornado Alley Ultimate.

It features the most powerful tornado in the game: a tornado larger than the one in the mode Tornado Emergency.


It also includes severe additional environmental hazards: extreme lightning, and a derecho (very strong straight-line winds, hurricane-category strength) alongside the tornado.

The tornado’s size and destructive power are at the absolute top in this game’s hierarchy (ancient disaster tier).

The surrounding storm is not just about funnel clouds: you’ll deal with derecho winds (comparable to Category 5 hurricane winds) and heavy lightning.

The mode is extremely rare / hard to experience (because of how powerful it is).

🔍 Tips for Surviving (or at least watching)

Try to stick inside solid shelters, preferably underground or heavily built structures — the tornado + wind + lightning combo will destroy weak cover.

Stay away from open areas, large windows, rooflines — the derecho and tornado will target elevated, exposed positions.

If you’re just playing for spectacle: pick a vantage point with good cover but view of the storm for maximum effect.

Because it’s so extreme, expect the game to shift rapidly: one moment calm, the next massive funnel + full storm.
