Amidst growing protests and pressure on the regime in Iran, a shocking revelation has emerged. The British newspaper The Times, citing intelligence reports, claims that Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has a backup plan to leave the country. This news comes at a time when the US is supporting the protests in Iran. The report states that if security forces fail to contain the protests or if a rebellion breaks out within their ranks, Khamenei could flee to Moscow with his family and close associates. According to the report, this "Plan B" of the 86-year-old Khamenei is known only to about 20 of his closest confidantes, including his son and alleged successor, Mojtaba Khamenei. An intelligence source is quoted as saying that Russia is "the only safe haven" for him, given his close relationship and ideological and strategic understanding with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
