Dedicated to my dear friends, who always inspire me
and support me through thick and thin;
you know who you are and you know that I love and appreciate you.
This piece won 2nd place in the BMSM annual composition competition, and was performed in concert by the ICP, Conducted by Maestro Zsolt Nagy.
The piece is based on a story written by my friend that tells the outbreak of a civil war between two witch clans, and the consequences of that war on the dark forest which they inhabit.
The piece is comprised of three short movements:
I. Between Moss and Moon 00:13
II. The Witches Prepare for Battle 04:12
III. Black Earth/The Witch Pits 06:50
In the First and Last movement, I strive to paint a musical picture of nature. The first one being of a pastoral nature, before disaster strikes, and the last being the aftermath of the battle. These two movements serve as parallels to one another. The second movement, however, is a musical depiction of said battle. It opens with a fanfare played by the woodwinds and then immediately transforms into something wild, describing a fast-paced battle.
a HUGE thank you, to the insanely talented musicians of the ICP:
Conductor - Zsolt Nagy
Flute - Daphna Itzhaky
Clarinet - Tibi Cziger
Violin - Yael Barolsky
Violoncello - Michal Korman
Percussion - Shalev Koloditsky
Piano - Tomer Westman
And of course, thank you for listening to my music, and supporting my videos. I will keep working hard, to achieve my goals. Please be patient with me.
