This incident pushed OP’s husband to finally cut off his financially dependent family, as he had supported them for years while they mistreated him and his partners. His family retaliated with guilt trips and emotional manipulation, trying to turn him against OP. When that failed, MIL and her children showed up uninvited, accused OP of being a gold digger, and demanded financial support.

After OP and her husband blocked them, MIL filed a false legal claim, accusing him of owing money from his father’s estate. This backfired badly, as OP’s husband proved he built his business independently. MIL and her children lost the case and were left struggling financially.
