Darcy Bacha and Sammy Carlson
The 2012 Photo of the Year went to Darcy Bacha's image of Sammy Carlson on Mount Hood. In the picture, Carlson is throwing a dub seven near the summit of the volcano at sunset. Bacha got his shot during filming for Carlson's movie On Top of the Hood. The photo was used for the cover of Powder's photo annual and is one of the most unique images that has ever graced the front page of The Skier's Magazine.
