Today, my father Nermal Singh, affectionately known as Nimmo Singh, would have turned 69. Sadly we lost him earlier this year.

To honour his memory, we've created this tribute video celebrating his extraordinay life, featuring the original Ub40 crew members and representatives of Birmingham.

Dad grew up in Birmingham, England, after immigrating from Punjab, India, at the age of six. He settled in the Moseley district, where he went to school and was raised alongside his brothers, who would later go on to form the legendary reggae band.. UB40.

Nimmo played an integral role in the bands journey, touring the world and contributing behind the scenes in various capacities. He parted ways with UB40 in 1994, following their final world tour of 'Promises and Lies.

Beyond UB40, Nimmo continued his musical journey, working with artists such as Echo and the Bunny man, Kilimanjaro, Cliff Richard, Rod Stewart, and many more. In addition to his music career, he also ran and owned several businesses, a testament to his drive, creativity, and resilience.

He was truly one of a kind. We are incredibly proud of all that he achieved and the life he led.

He is deeply missed by me, our family, and friends across the globe. Though he's no longer with us physically, his spirit lives on with us.
