In this video, I talk about the complete journey from preparing for NEET to entering the first year of MBBS — a transformation every medical student experiences. I begin by sharing my own experience and even show my distinction marks card to give you some motivation.6

After that, I start explaining about the three major subjects in the first year: Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry.

I begin with Anatomy, where I show all the important books — starting with Gray’s Anatomy and then moving on to Indian authors like BDC and Vishram Singh. I also show Human Embryology by Vishram Singh and the smaller anatomy books from BDC that are helpful for quick revisions. I then include Selective Anatomy by Vishram Singh and talk about how to use it effectively.

Next, I move to Physiology, where I discuss the standard books like Guyton and Hall, GK Pal, and AK Jain for both theory and practicals.
Then I talk about Biochemistry, showing Lippincott’s Illustrated Reviews and Vasudevan, and explain how to choose between them depending on your reading style and exam needs.

After covering all the subjects and books, I move on to solving the most common doubts that first-year MBBS students have —
whether to buy new editions or borrow books from seniors, and how to manage costs smartly without missing out on quality content.

Then I discuss the reality of friendships and how to maintain balance without getting distracted. I also talk honestly about addictions like smoking and alcohol, which some students face after entering college, and how to avoid falling into those habits.

After that, I cover the problem of book accumulation — how students end up collecting too many books and losing focus — and I share how to keep your study setup simple and effective.

I also speak about the importance of physical and mental health, especially during the first year when everything feels new and overwhelming. Finally, I talk about consistency — the key to surviving and succeeding in MBBS — and share some personal tips to stay motivated throughout the year.

I end the video by introducing myself, mentioning my college, and thanking everyone for watching.
