Residents are beginning to pick up their pieces after Hurricane Ida moved on land Sunday. Pieces of houses and other debris is scattered across the yards in most places. Barges that broke lose ended up beached along the river as well. The Harvey boat that was pushed into a duck pond from a previous hurricane got relocated back out and is beached. Multiple communications towers fell as well as this one near the lake that was the power grid for the city. Flooded roadways is still an issue in several towns such as Houma over to Port Fourchon. Trees in Laplace are pushed over as well as down in spots. The US Coast Guard has been using helos to retrieve people that needed out.
