If you’re looking for newly cancelled permits for sold-out backcountry areas, Campnab can help. Since 2021, we’ve scanned a number of backcountry and wilderness permits in Canada and the United States. These scans work a lot like our standard frontcountry campground scans.
However, given the variety of booking systems and approaches taken, backcountry permit scanning is more finicky than scanning for a standard campsite. In this video, I’ll show you how to create a scan to monitor backcountry permits for new availability. I’ll also note some of the challenges we’re working with.
