A chance for me to try out the Fender's re-imagined Squier Super-Sonic guitar.
The 'Vista' series of Squier guitars were a short-lived line including the Squier Venus popularized by Courtney Love and the Super-Sonic, a guitar that was used by Omar Rodriguez Lopez of At The Drive-in. He managed to squeeze a lot of amazing sounds out of that little guitar. The Fender Super-Sonic comes in a new selection of colors (red grey and orange) in a 'flake' finish, although to me it looks more like glitter!
The guitar is very playable and extremely eye-catching, I found it to be more defined for lead playing rather than rhythm (at least with the amount of gain I tend to prefer), the guitar would definitely suit anyone playing punk/post-punk influenced music right through to hard rock with it's current pickups. I'd personally choose something slightly lower gain in the bridge.
