Welcome to my first playthrough of The Ice Cream Shop, a cozy simulation game that slowly descends into psychological horror. The gameplay starts off simple enough: we are working behind the counter, taking orders, scooping different flavors, choosing toppings, and handing out cones or bowls to the late-night crowd. It feels like a relaxing job simulator at first, complete with keeping the shop clean and processing change for the customers.

But as the shift drags on, the atmosphere completely shifts. Our character suffers from an illness that twists reality, making it impossible to trust our own eyes. We are forced to serve creeping shadows, unsettling strangers, and faces that become horribly distorted. Are these wanderers actually here, or are the strange noises from behind the fridge just the beginning of a mental break?

The slow-burn tension in this indie horror game does an amazing job of blending mundane tasks with pure paranoia. If you enjoy games where you have to balance a cozy work environment with terrifying hallucinations and sudden scares, this one will mess with your head. Let's see if we can make it through the shift without completely losing our grip on reality.
