Produced by WPIX-TV New York in the early 1980's, Independent Network News was a national/ world news broadcast which was fed to INN affiliates.
Local (NYC) viewers saw sections of the feed smoothly intercut with local segments on Channel 11.
(Trivia: The clue to Channel 11 viewers if they were watching a national or exclusive segment was the Chyron under the reporter, whether she/he was identified at "Independent Network News" or "WPIX-11 News".)
With some minor set dressing changes between broadcasts, this set was used for Midday Edition, the 7:30 Action News (local), and the 10PM Independent Network News.
This was indeed a great set design. It offered depth, active lighting cues, clean lines, and a variety of both anchor and bump shots.
