This part of the run was the first special regulation fly fishing waterway in Pennsylvania that limited angling technique and established catch-and-release fishing.
Trout that we happened upon in the water show up in slow motion sequences in the video.
LeTort Spring Run, part of the Pennsylvania Scenic Rivers System, is a well-known fly fishing stream where anglers fish for brown trout.
Catch-and-release fly fishing continues as the only authorized method of fishing the LeTort upstream of LeTort Park, but all legal fishing techniques are allowed in the park and downstream to the LeTort’s confluence with Conodoguinet Creek in Middlesex Township.
LeTort Spring Run is a 9.4-mile-long stream that runs through the edge of downtown Carlisle, and LeTort Park, before emptying into the Conodoguinet Creek just northeast of the borough.
Just a few feet upstream of where LeTort Spring Run meets the Conodoguinet, it drops over the small five-foot-tall LeTort Falls in Middlesex Township.
