My Prison Penpal - Writing to an Inmate/Prisoner

Описание: This video is all about how I started writing to prisoners across USA based prisons. I used a website called www.writeaprisoner.com to find inmate profiles and chose 5 people to write letters to. Now, 5 years later, I still talk to one of the inmates. His name is Michael and he is based in a prison in Minnesota, USA. We talk on the phone, send Birthday and Christmas cards and send emails/letters.

Writing to inmates can be a very rewarding experience. Having someone to talk to and rely on can give a prisoner a lot of hope and simple happiness. Many prisoners do not have anybody on the outside of prison to talk to, so being a pen pal can help them feel connected to the world whilst they serve their sentences.
