We are spending Chinese New Year holiday in my husband’s hometown—Shenyang (a northeastern capital city in China). Today is the most important day for Chinese families—the Reunion Day. Join me in Northeast China as we prepare for the biggest feast of the year! From rushing to get a last-minute haircut (because of a unique superstition!) to battling the holiday price surge on seafood, it's a busy but heartwarming day.
We’ll explore a local night market, see some amazing traditional crafts like sugar blowing, and of course, make handmade dumplings while watching the Spring Festival Gala. Oh, and you’ll see why we don't need refrigerators in Northeast China during winter! ❄️
