Описание: 하이든의 유머가 '놀람'에 이르더니 '방귀'까지 가네요. 하이든 전곡도전 시리즈를 채워나가면서 처음 알게된 곡입니다. 놀람교향곡의 2악장은 초반에 '쾅'소리로 놀래키죠? 이 곡은 마지막 부분에 청중들이 꾸벅꾸벅 졸고 있는 음형을 연주하다가 갑자기 바순이 C음을 뿡~하고 오버하면서 방귀소리를 흉내냅니다. 악보에 표기 해두었으니 어딘지 찾아보시길...그리고 더 궁금하다면 원곡을 들어보세요. 피아노 저음으로 방귀소리를 흉내내긴 무리가 있네요...ㅎ 하이든은 이렇듯 자신의 작품중에 애착이 가거나 크게 히트한 곡들을 이렇게 피아노 독주곡으로 손수 편곡해서 출판해내는 일을 통해 부수입을 짭짤하게 올렸다고 합니다.

Haydn’s sense of humor even extended to “surprise” and then to “farting.” I first learned about this piece while working on my complete Haydn series. The second movement of the Surprise Symphony initially shocks the audience with a loud “bang,” right? In this piece, towards the end, the audience is actually playing a lullaby-like motif, seemingly dozing off, when the bassoon suddenly overblows a C note, mimicking a fart sound. I’ve marked the exact spot in the score, so feel free to look for it… And if you're curious, listen to the original version. Trying to imitate a fart sound on the piano’s lower register is quite a stretch… haha. Haydn is said to have personally arranged and published such beloved or hit works as solo piano pieces to earn extra income.
